Downtown Collingwood businesses hand out treats to costumed children during the daytime on Halloween. Participating shops display orange witch signs, and those with a teal pumpkin have non-food treats for kids with allergies.
The trail runs Saturday, October 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A costume contest at 12:30 p.m. at the Downtown Parkette (84 Hurontario Street, across from Town Hall) has prizes by age group, plus family and pet categories. A haunted house in a moving truck is set up at the same spot, and the Collingwood Museum hosts a scavenger hunt and crafts.
No admission fee is listed. Downtown Collingwood is about 20 minutes from Wasaga Beach, making this an easy daytime option before evening trick-or-treating at home.
